Video Sync 6.2 released

June 22nd, 2026

Earlier this month we shipped Cue Pro 26, a big release merging Cue Pro and ADR Master into one product. Video Sync and Cue Pro are built on the same shared codebase. That means several of the editorial features we developed for Cue Pro 26 carry straight over to Video Sync 6.2: a Scene Track, a Shot Change Track, Overlay Presets, and automatic Project File Backups.

One codebase, two products - and you benefit

It's worth pausing on why this release exists at all. Video Sync and Cue Pro share the same underlying engine. When we invest months of development into a major Cue Pro release, a lot of that work isn't specific to ADR cueing at all - it's editorial and playback infrastructure that's just as useful on a scoring stage or in a foley room as it is in a dubbing session.

Rather than let those features live in a single product, we bring the ones that make sense over to Video Sync. So even if you never touch Cue Pro, the development effort behind it keeps making Video Sync better.

Scene Track (Pro)

A new track type for organizing your work by scene. Import an EDL and Video Sync automatically converts edit points into scenes on the timeline, then pull in scene descriptions from a shooting script PDF. Scene numbers and names appear right on the timeline, so you always know where you are in the picture and can jump straight to the scene you need. The Scene Track is available in Video Sync 6 Pro.

Shot Change Track (Pro)

A dedicated shot change track, populated by a built-in video analysis engine for automatic shot change detection - or imported directly from an EDL.

For composers spotting to picture, having shot changes laid out on the timeline makes it far easier to align hits, streamers, and markers to the cut. Let Video Sync find the shots for you, or bring them in from your editorial department's EDL. The Shot Change Track is available in Video Sync 6 Pro; automatic shot change detection is currently macOS only, while EDL import works on both platforms.

Overlay Presets

Overlay preferences are now far easier to navigate, share, and switch between, with a new sidebar layout for organization. Instantly save or load your entire overlay setup as a preset - or export it to a file and take it with you to any studio.

If you move between rooms or facilities, this means your timecode displays, streamers, flutters, and markers travel with you. Set up your look once, save it, and reload it anywhere.

Automatic Project File Backups

Video Sync 6.2 now keeps automatic backups of your project files in a dedicated folder, making it easy to recall an earlier version of a project. It's quiet, automatic peace of mind - if something goes wrong, or you simply want to step back to where a project was an hour ago, the earlier versions are right there waiting.

Performance & Stability

Alongside the new features, Video Sync 6.2 includes a round of performance and stability work:

  • Faster video exports on Windows.
  • A new smooth overlay rendering option, set per video device, that renders overlays at a higher frame rate than the video's native FPS.
  • Improved timeline drawing and overall rendering performance.
  • Numerous crash and stability fixes across video rendering, export, and application shutdown.

A free update for every Video Sync 6 owner

Video Sync 6.2 is a free update for all Video Sync 6 perpetual license owners and subscribers. It's included with your existing license. Perpetual licenses cover all 6.x updates, and subscriptions always have access to the latest version.

The Scene Track and Shot Change Track require Video Sync 6 Pro; Overlay Presets and automatic Project File Backups are available across both Standard and Pro editions.
